Among individual movers, Naturgy Energy Group SA (BME:NTGY) was the session's best performer on the IBEX 35, rising 2.21% or 0.64 points to finish at 29.54. Repsol (BME:REP) added 1.77% or 0.48 points to close at 27.54, and SOLARIA ENERGIA Y MEDIO AMBIENTE (BME:SLRS) gained 1.71% or 0.28 points to end the day at 16.70. Notably, shares in Repsol rose to an all-time high during the session.

On the downside, Acerinox (BME:ACX) registered the largest slide among IBEX components, falling 3.22% or 0.58 points to close at 17.46. International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (BME:ICAG) declined 2.51% or 0.13 points to 4.98, while ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS) was down 2.37% or 1.50 points to 61.74.

Market breadth on the Madrid Stock Exchange skewed negative: 112 stocks fell versus 74 that advanced, and 20 finished unchanged.

In commodities, Gold Futures for December delivery fell 1.10% or 49.28 points to $4,424.42 a troy ounce. Oil contracts moved higher, with crude oil for October delivery up 0.86% or 0.72 to $84.46 a barrel, and the October Brent contract rising 0.62% or 0.56 to trade at $91.43 a barrel.

Currency markets were relatively quiet. The euro-dollar pair (EUR/USD) was essentially unchanged, moving 0.02% to 1.16, while EUR/GBP was unchanged by 0.01% at 0.86. The US Dollar Index Futures dipped 0.04% to 99.50, reflecting a modest move in the dollar during the session.
