Reykjavik, Iceland - August 18, 2026
Wagyu.xyz, a cross-chain swap and bridge platform that facilitates access to native Monero (XMR), reported that cumulative transaction volume across its supported routes has surpassed $700 million since the platform went live in January 2026. The milestone arrives approximately seven months after the company launched the current version of its service.
The platform also announced the general availability of a public application programming interface (API) designed to let third-party developers operate independent swap services on Wagyu.xyz infrastructure. The API supports asset discovery, exact-input and exact-output quoting, durable order creation, and order tracking via REST and WebSocket interfaces.
Volume and early traction
According to company figures, the $700 million figure represents cumulative transaction volume since launch across all supported routes. Early operational data showed approximately $10 million in user withdrawals and $200,000 in revenue within the platform's first two weeks of operation, and more than $20 million in incremental trading volume routed to the Hyperliquid exchange.
In an early-stage financing round the company was valued at $50 million. Wagyu.xyz was founded in December 2025 by an operator known publicly as PerpetualCow and rolled out its current production release in January 2026.
Execution model and pricing mechanics
Wagyu.xyz differentiates itself from many instant-swap venues by routing orders to Hyperliquid's onchain orderbook rather than pricing from operator-held inventory. Under the platform's model, professional market makers compete on price on the orderbook and transaction spread is therefore set by market conditions, not unilaterally by the platform.
The company supplies settlement of native XMR on the Monero blockchain. During the transaction lifecycle the platform uses XMR1, a wrapped representation on HyperCore. Wagyu.xyz reports a median settlement time of approximately 5.5 minutes and a 90th-percentile settlement time of 13.2 minutes, subject to a 20-confirmation requirement.
The platform's execution model stands in contrast to the broader instant-swap segment, where independent analysis has found effective all-in transaction costs of roughly 3 percent to 4 percent versus frequently advertised rates below 1 percent. Because conventional instant-swap providers typically do not publish an orderbook, quoted rates are not easily benchmarked against a reference market.
Compliance sequencing and custody policy
Wagyu.xyz conducts transaction screening before executing swaps rather than after deposit acceptance. Deposits that do not pass the platform's screening are returned to the originating address. The company says this sequencing is intended to address a known issue in the segment in which an estimated 2 percent to 5 percent of transactions are flagged after an operator has taken custody - a circumstance that often leads to requests for documentation from users of services the industry markets as requiring no identity verification. In those cases, resolution timelines are not contractually defined.
The platform's published compliance policy states that it does not request KYC documentation from users and that it restricts assets only pursuant to a valid court order or equivalent instrument issued by a duly authorized authority of competent jurisdiction.
Market context and distribution dynamics
Spot access to Monero has narrowed materially across regulated venues in recent years. The company noted that Binance removed XMR spot pairs, OKX issued delisting notices with defined withdrawal cutoff dates, and Kraken suspended Monero trading and deposits for clients in the European Economic Area while retaining access in other jurisdictions. The peer-to-peer venue LocalMonero also ceased operations after seven years.
Reported network activity for Monero has not declined in line with the reduction in regulated distribution, indicating that end-user demand persisted even as regulated channels contracted. Market commentary cited by the company indicated Monero traded above $600 in the period after Wagyu.xyz launched, a movement attributed in part to reduced structural sell pressure from the instant-swap channel.
Public API and third-party integration
Wagyu.xyz's public API is intended to operate as a wholesale distribution channel. Third parties can use the API to originate transaction volume that settles through Wagyu.xyz's execution path while applying their own margin to the routed rate. The company emphasizes that third-party implementers using the API do not need to hold inventory, maintain bridges, or run treasury operations.
Reported implementations of the API to date include wallet integrations and regionally focused swap interfaces. The company positions the capability as enabling independent swap services on Wagyu.xyz infrastructure while preserving the platform's execution and settlement flow.
About Wagyu.xyz
Wagyu.xyz is a cross-chain swap and bridge platform headquartered in Reykjavik, Iceland, that enables native Monero settlement without collecting identity verification documentation from users. Founded by an operator publicly known as PerpetualCow in December 2025 and launched in January 2026, the platform routes orders through Hyperliquid's onchain orderbook and applies compliance screening prior to execution, returning deposits that fail screening to their origin address. Wagyu.xyz reports more than $700 million in cumulative transaction volume since launch and has made a public API available to third-party developers.
