Stockholm stocks ended Tuesday's session in negative territory, with the benchmark OMX Stockholm 30 trimming 0.66% by the close as declines in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Financials sectors pressured the market.
The session's strongest performers within the OMXS30 were H & M Hennes & Mauritz AB B (ST:HMb), which climbed 4.05% to finish at 179.70; AstraZeneca PLC (ST:AZN), which added 2.62% to close at 1,528.00; and Telia Company AB (ST:TELIA), up 1.06% to end the day at 43.82.
At the other end of the index, ABB Ltd (ST:ABB) fell 2.81% to 946.80, Atlas Copco AB Class A (ST:ATCOa) dropped 2.65% to 202.30 and Boliden AB (ST:BOL) declined 2.12% to 518.20 at the close.
Market breadth on the Stockholm Stock Exchange showed more stocks slipping than rising, with 428 issues lower, 298 advancing and 67 unchanged.
Commodities prices moved unevenly during the session. Crude oil for October delivery rose 1.09% to $84.65 a barrel, while Brent oil for October delivery gained 0.73% to $91.53 a barrel. By contrast, the December Gold Futures contract fell 1.17% to trade at $4,421.55 a troy ounce.
In foreign exchange trading, the euro strengthened versus the Swedish krona, with EUR/SEK up 0.29% at 11.04. The US dollar also moved higher against the krona, with USD/SEK rising 0.28% to 9.53. The US Dollar Index Futures was reported down 0.03% at 99.51.
