Kwai Chung, South Korea, September 10th, 2026 - CoinMarketCap has expanded its Pro API with a new family of CMC AI endpoints that make the platform’s AI-generated narrative content available as structured data for developers.
The endpoints return the identical questions, answers and source attributions that appear across CoinMarketCap’s homepage and Coin Detail Pages, but packaged in JSON so they can be integrated directly into products and services rather than consumed only on the website.
Unlike many crypto data APIs that focus primarily on numerical outputs such as prices, volumes and market capitalizations, the CMC AI endpoints layer explanatory content on top of those numbers. Three endpoints are being released together:
- Market feed - a feed refreshed every 30 minutes that summarizes trending narratives, sentiment, momentum and top news.
- Per-cryptocurrency endpoint - for each of the top 100 assets by market capitalization, the endpoint returns a fixed set of questions and answers covering topics from why a price moved today to what is next on an asset’s roadmap and what changed in its codebase.
- Coverage map - an index that indicates which assets currently have AI-generated content available.
Each response separates content into a short summary and a longer body formatted in markdown. Alongside textual answers, the endpoints return the source URLs used to construct the response and a count of the total sources supporting it. Source links are canonicalized and deduplicated to avoid redundant attributions.
CoinMarketCap notes that content is retrieved from its internal database rather than being generated on demand. That approach is intended to produce consistent, repeatable answers rather than varying outputs for identical requests.
"CoinMarketCap has been the industry’s leading reference point for crypto data for over a decade," said Rush, CEO of CoinMarketCap. "These new CMC AI endpoints make that API data even more powerful, because developers can now pull the number and the reasoning behind it in a single call, with the sources attached."
The new endpoints extend an existing unified interface that already covers spot and derivatives markets, decentralized exchange and on-chain data, real-world assets, proprietary indices - including the CoinMarketCap Fear and Greed Index - and real-time streaming.
At launch, the CMC AI family is available to customers on Enterprise plans. CoinMarketCap said a separate monthly AI credit allowance that will permit access for customers on other plan tiers, including the free tier, is scheduled to follow in a subsequent release, though the timing and details of that release were not specified.
Developers and firms can find full parameters, response fields and worked examples in the CoinMarketCap Pro API documentation at coinmarketcap.com/api/documentation. API keys are obtainable at coinmarketcap.com/api, and enterprise inquiries should be directed to API Sales.
