Kioxia Holdings Corp (TYO:285A) fell 10.24% or 5,560.00 points to end at 48,740.00, while Mitsui Mining and Smelting Co. (TYO:5706) was down 9.64% or 3,410.00 points to 31,970.00.

On the broader market breadth, rising issues outnumbered decliners on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, with 2,113 stocks advancing versus 1,358 declining; 257 issues finished unchanged.

Several stocks reached notable highs in the session. Shares of Omron Cor rose to 52-week highs after the 14.97% gain, and Kao Corp. similarly hit 52-week highs following its 12.83% advance. Mercari's shares rose to 3-year highs after the 11.59% increase.

Volatility measures eased modestly: the Nikkei Volatility index, which tracks implied volatility on Nikkei 225 options, declined 3.50% to 33.07.

Commodity prices posted small moves. Crude oil for September delivery fell 0.08% or 0.06 to $75.16 a barrel. Brent oil for October delivery rose 0.13% or 0.10 to $79.55 a barrel. The December Gold Futures contract increased 0.22% or 9.40 to trade at $4,314.60 a troy ounce.

Currency markets showed mixed movement: USD/JPY was up 0.05% to 157.83, while EUR/JPY fell 0.03% to 182.20. The US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.09% to 99.64.
