WidePoint Corporation saw its shares surge 60% on Thursday after the company announced it had been chosen as the single awardee for the Department of Homeland Security's Cellular Wireless Managed Services (CWMS) 3.0 contract.
The engagement is structured as a 10-year Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) vehicle, consisting of a one-year base period followed by nine one-year option periods. The contract carries an estimated ceiling value of approximately $3.1 billion, and the ordering period for CWMS 3.0 begins on June 25, 2026.
Under the terms of the CWMS 3.0 award, WidePoint will be responsible for delivering and managing a consolidated portfolio of solutions intended to address lifecycle management, connectivity, security, and operational requirements across every DHS component. The contract specifically enables the delivery of value-added services that include device security, AI-driven data intelligence, and mission-tailored networking solutions.
WidePoint said its FedRAMP-certified ITMS Command Center platform will act as the primary operational hub for monitoring, orchestration, and reporting across the DHS portfolio. The company noted it has supported federal customers for more than two decades, positioning its platform and experience as integral to contract execution.
Jason Holloway, WidePoint's Chief Revenue Officer, said the contract ceiling value is more than double that of the predecessor contract. The company indicated it expects continued expansion in managed services and supporting capabilities aimed at improving value, security, visibility, and operational control for DHS agencies.
Jin Kang, WidePoint's Chief Executive Officer, characterized winning CWMS 3.0 as a major strategic milestone for the firm in its role as the single awardee. The CEO also noted that this award marks the second catalyst he has referenced previously, following a separate contract with one of the three largest carriers in the United States.
Market reaction and operational scope
The immediate market response was sharp: a 60% increase in WidePoint's share price on the announcement day. Operationally, the scope of CWMS 3.0 spans lifecycle services through active management and analytics, with an emphasis on device security and AI-driven intelligence that the company says will be integrated via its ITMS Command Center.
