Robinhood Markets Inc. stock advanced 1.6% in pre-open trading after a pair of bullish analyst notes and several company-specific developments drew investor attention.
Goldman Sachs raised its price target to $142 from $124 and maintained a Buy rating. Analyst James Yaro highlighted the initial performance of Rothera, Robinhood’s prediction markets joint venture with Susquehanna, noting that Rothera has already ranked among the third to fifth largest global prediction market exchanges by volume. Goldman also reported that Rothera generated roughly $150 million in annualized revenue in its first quarter of operation.
Jefferies followed with its own upward revision, increasing its target to $140 from $127 and keeping a Buy rating after meetings with Robinhood’s chief financial officer. Jefferies cited several encouraging signals from the management discussions: robust net deposit trends, accelerating growth in Gold subscriptions, and heightened activity on Robinhood Chain, the company’s Ethereum layer-2 blockchain. Jefferies specifically pointed to a spike in blockchain fees, noting that Robinhood Chain reached $8.2 million in daily fees on September 4.
Additional market signals amplified the headlines. Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest purchased about $3.6 million of HOOD shares on September 5, a move that the market often interprets as a sign of institutional conviction. At the same time, Robinhood’s CEO Vlad Tenev is scheduled to present at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference on September 9, creating a near-term event that could influence sentiment and trading volumes.
The broader equity backdrop was mixed but did not appear to be a major constraint on HOOD’s move. The S&P 500 was down about 0.3%, the Dow fell roughly 0.8%, and the Nasdaq traded essentially flat at +0.04%, underscoring that the share-price reaction is being driven primarily by company-specific news rather than broad market momentum.
Market participants are also watching consumer attention drivers that could affect Rothera’s volumes. The start of the NFL and NCAA football seasons was flagged by some observers as a potential catalyst for increased prediction-market activity through the end of 2026, a dynamic that could support the revenue thesis if sustained.
Taken together, the pre-market analyst upgrades, early revenue signals from Rothera, and accelerating blockchain fee generation helped propel HOOD higher. Shares were trading at $124.11 and approached an intraday high of $124.70, though they remain below the 52-week high of $153.86, indicating room for further upside if current trends continue.
