New York, New York, October 22nd, 2026 - Uniswap Labs announced the deployment of Aggregator Hooks, a new category of v4 hooks designed to incorporate external liquidity into the Uniswap protocol by wrapping outside sources and exposing them as Uniswap pools.
The feature is now active in the Uniswap Web App and available via the Uniswap API on Ethereum mainnet, Base and Robinhood Chain. Uniswap Labs said seven external sources are included at launch, and that those sources cover more than 90% of decentralized exchange activity on the supported chains. The launch notice posed the question: which seven sources are included at launch across these chains? The announcement did not list the individual venues.
Aggregator Hooks function by encapsulating an external liquidity provider inside a Uniswap v4 hook so that any router interacting with the protocol recognizes the wrapped source as if it were a native Uniswap pool. According to Uniswap Labs, the protocol's router refreshes quotes from connected sources every block and assembles an execution route that combines liquidity from Uniswap pools and the wrapped external sources. The route is executed and settled in a single transaction, and users are not required to take any additional approval steps for the combined swap.
Swaps that use these wrapped external sources are routed through the Uniswap architecture and, as with Uniswap-native trades, routed swaps contribute protocol fees. Uniswap Labs indicated those protocol fees count toward UNI burn mechanics.
From a product perspective, the company has integrated Aggregator Hooks into the front-end so that external liquidity is included automatically in swaps initiated through the Uniswap Web App. Developers who want programmatic access can route through these wrapped sources by using the Uniswap API. Uniswap Labs also provides further information on hooks it has developed.
In context, the announcement reiterated the scale of the Uniswap Protocol, noting it is the largest decentralized exchange by volume and that more than $4.5 trillion has been swapped through the protocol. In a separate descriptive paragraph about Uniswap Labs, the company was described as a core contributor to the Uniswap Protocol and was noted to have more than $4.6 trillion in all-time trading volume. Uniswap Labs develops a suite of products used to access onchain liquidity, including the Uniswap Web App, Uniswap Wallet, the Uniswap API and UniswapX.
