Israel's equity market ended the trading day in positive territory on Monday, with the TA 35 benchmark adding 4.61% to finish at a new all-time high.
Sector performance was led by gains in Oil & Gas, Insurance and Financials, which collectively pushed the broader index upward. Market breadth favored advancers, with 390 stocks rising versus 98 declining, and 61 closing unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
Top movers
The session's strongest performers included Newmed Energy LP (TASE:NWMDp), which climbed 11.87% - a rise of 232.00 points - to close at 2,186.00. Dimri (TASE:DIMRI) also posted a double-digit advance, up 11.07% or 4,930.00 points, finishing the day at 49,470.00. Navitas Petroleum LP Unit (TASE:NVPTp) increased 10.80%, adding 1,270.00 points to reach 13,030.00 in late trade.
Both Newmed Energy LP and Dimri reached all-time highs during the session, each recording the largest gains among TA 35 components.
Laggers and notable moves
Among the weaker names, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TASE:TEVA) fell 1.41%, a decline of 150.00 points, to close at 10,460.00. Ormat Technologies (TASE:ORA) dipped 0.45% or 150.00 points, ending the day at 33,250.00. Nova (TASE:NVMI) was an exception among the group listed as weaker performers earlier in the session, recording a modest rise of 0.53% or 730.00 points to 138,220.00.
Commodities and currencies
Energy markets saw strong upward moves alongside Israeli equities. Crude oil for April delivery gained 6.60%, up $4.42 to $71.44 a barrel. Brent crude for May delivery rose 7.71%, or $5.62, to $78.49 a barrel. Precious metals were also firmer, with the April Gold Futures contract increasing 1.82% or $95.70 to trade at $5,343.60 a troy ounce.
Currency pairs against the shekel moved lower on the day. The USD/ILS exchange rate declined 1.31% to 3.09, while EUR/ILS fell 2.38% to 3.61. The US Dollar Index Futures was higher by 1.08% at 98.62.
Overall, the session reflected broad participation in a market led by energy-related names and supported by gains across multiple sectors.
