On the downside, CviLux Corp (TW:8103) posted the largest decline, falling 9.95% or 10.90 points to finish at 98.60. Chenbro Micom Co Ltd (TW:8210) dropped 8.72% or 85.00 points to close at 890.00, while BizLink Holding Inc (TW:3665) slipped 5.49% or 75.00 points to end the session at 1,290.00.
Market breadth data recorded an unusual line: "Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0."
Two names reached new record share prices during the session. Shares in Kinik Co (TW:1560) rose to all time highs, up 10.00% or 42.50 to 467.50. Shares in Chroma ATE Inc (TW:2360) likewise climbed to all time highs, rising 10.00% or 105.00 to 1,155.00.
Commodity prices moved higher in trading. Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.58% or 0.38, trading at $66.01 per barrel. Brent oil for May delivery increased 0.57% or 0.40 to $70.98 per barrel. In metals, the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.72% or 37.31 to trade at $5,213.61 a troy ounce.
Foreign exchange and dollar measures showed modest shifts. The USD/TWD exchange rate fell 0.33% to 31.29, while the TWD/CNY rate was unchanged at 0.18% to 0.22. The US Dollar Index Futures slipped 0.16% to 97.62.
