Gains were concentrated in Glass, Plastic and Electronic Parts/Components stocks, with several individual issues posting double-digit percentage moves. Commodity and currency markets showed modest shifts alongside the equity advance.

All-time moves for individual names

Shares of Compeq Manufacturing Co Ltd (TW:2313) rose to an all-time high, gaining 10.00% or 20.50 to reach 225.50. By contrast, Yeong Guan Energy Technology Group Co Ltd (TW:1589) fell to an all-time low, losing 9.76% or 1.65 to end at 15.25. Unimicron Technology Corp (TW:3037) also recorded an all-time high after rising 9.99% or 40.50 to 446.00.

Commodities and currencies

In commodities trading, crude oil for April delivery was up 0.20% or 0.13 to $65.55 a barrel. Brent oil for May delivery increased 0.24% or 0.17 to $70.86 a barrel. The April Gold Futures contract slipped 0.22% or 11.65 to trade at $5,214.55 a troy ounce.

On currency markets, USD/TWD was down 0.24% to 31.21, while TWD/CNY was unchanged 0.18% to 0.22. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 97.52.
