Risks

  • Elevated implied volatility - The CAC 40 VIX reached a 52-week high at 18.96, indicating increased option-implied uncertainty that could affect equity price stability across sectors.
  • Concentration of weakness in materials and consumer goods - Larger declines in companies such as Compagnie de Saint Gobain, EssilorLuxottica and Renault could signal sector-specific pressure that may weigh on the Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors.
  • Commodity price swings - Moves in gold (down 1.37%) and crude oil (Brent and WTI up 1.89% and 2.24%, respectively) introduce input-cost and sentiment risks for commodity-exposed sectors and broader market correlations.
