Commodities and currencies

In commodities trading, crude oil for October delivery rose 2.31% or $1.93 to $85.33 a barrel. Brent for December delivery increased 4.97% or $4.28 to $90.40 a barrel. By contrast, the December Gold Futures contract declined 1.01% or $45.70 to trade at $4,484.20 a troy ounce.

On the currency front, EUR/NOK was up 0.17% at 10.87, while USD/NOK was essentially unchanged, moving 0.05% to 9.36. The US Dollar Index Futures traded lower by 0.28% at 99.38.
