Indonesia's IDX Composite closed down 0.09% on Friday, with declines concentrated in the Agriculture, Basic Industry and Property sectors. A small group of stocks logged large percentage moves in both directions, while crude, Brent and gold showed minor shifts and the rupiah weakened against the dollar.

Indonesia's benchmark stock gauge ended the session lower on Friday, as losses across the Agriculture, Basic Industry and Property sectors pushed the IDX Composite down 0.09% at the close in Jakarta.

Market breadth favored decliners on the Jakarta Stock Exchange, where 450 issues fell, 272 advanced and 136 finished unchanged. The session was marked by sizeable percentage swings in several smaller-cap names.

The session's biggest winners included Bersama Zatta Jaya Tbk PT (JK:ZATA), which surged 31.40% or 38.00 points to finish at 159.00. Trisula Textile Industries Tbk PT (JK:BELL) climbed 26.37% or 48.00 points to close at 230.00, while Tunas Alfin Tbk (JK:TALF) rose 24.59% or 150.00 points to end the day at 760.00.

On the downside, Indospring Tbk (JK:INDS) led losses, dropping 14.98% or 430.00 points to 2,440.00 at the close. Rockfields Property Indonesia Pt (JK:ROCK) declined 14.95% or 480.00 points to finish at 2,730.00, and Pt Cipta Perdana Lancar Tbk (JK:PART) was down 14.95% or 32.00 points to 182.00.

Notable price milestones were recorded for a handful of names. Shares of Bersama Zatta Jaya Tbk PT (JK:ZATA) and Trisula Textile Industries Tbk PT (JK:BELL) rose to three-year highs, each posting their respective gains of 31.40% and 26.37%. Tunas Alfin Tbk (JK:TALF) reached an all-time high after a 24.59% advance to 760.00.

Commodities and currency moves on the day were modest. Crude oil for April delivery slipped 0.06% or 0.04 to $66.36 a barrel. Brent oil for April delivery fell 0.04% or 0.03 to $71.63 a barrel. In metals trading, the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.82% or 40.86 to trade at $5,038.26 a troy ounce.

Currency pairs involving the rupiah moved in opposite directions. USD/IDR was up 0.26% at 16,889.90, while AUD/IDR was down 0.18% at 11,885.61. The US Dollar Index Futures registered a small gain of 0.03%, trading at 97.88.

Overall, the trading day combined a marginal decline for the headline index with pronounced intraday volatility among individual stocks. The movement in commodities and the currency complex was limited but present, with the rupiah weaker against the US dollar and mixed shifts for oil and precious metals.
