Risks

  • Currency movements - USD/TRY rose 0.14% to 47.88 and EUR/TRY rose 0.43% to 55.51, indicating exchange-rate volatility that can affect import-dependent sectors and corporate earnings.
  • Commodity-price fluctuations - Gold and crude oil both moved during the session (gold +0.54% to $4,444.35; Brent +0.93% to $87.88), creating uncertainty for sectors exposed to energy and raw material costs.
  • Concentration of extreme individual moves - Several stocks experienced double-digit percentage swings (both up and down), which can increase idiosyncratic risk within portfolios focused on Turkish equities.
