Largest decliners - The biggest falls were concentrated in the banking segment. Banco De Bogota SA (BVC:BBO) dropped 6.89% or 2,760.00 points to close at 37,300.00. Banco Davivienda Pf (BVC:DVI_p) declined 5.31% or 1,480.00 points to end at 26,400.00, and Grupo Aval Acciones y Valores SA Pref (BVC:GAA_p) fell 4.45% or 33.00 points to 708.00.

Market breadth favored advancers, with rising stocks outnumbering decliners on the Colombia Stock Exchange by 1 to 0, underscoring the session's overall upward tilt.

Notable milestone - Shares of Ecopetrol reached a 52-week high in the session, increasing 2.32% or 55.00 points to 2,425.00.

Commodities and futures - In commodities trading, US coffee C for May delivery rose 1.30% or 3.80 to $297.10. US cocoa for May delivery gained 2.85% or 92.00 to $3,322.00. By contrast, the April Gold Futures contract was down 0.19% or 10.05, trading at 5,148.65 a troy ounce.

Foreign exchange - On currency moves, USD/COP fell 0.01% to 3,760.45 while BRL/COP decreased 0.01% to 728.64. The US Dollar Index Futures was lower by 0.25% at 98.74.
