Commodity moves in coffee and cocoa were positive, while gold futures retreated modestly and FX moves were limited.

Risks

  • Energy sector pressure - Ecopetrol's 2.90% decline may signal near-term volatility for energy-linked equities, which can affect broader market performance and investor sentiment.
  • Currency fluctuations - USD/COP and BRL/COP both moved 0.08%, creating potential exchange-rate risk for companies with foreign currency exposure, particularly importers and exporters.
  • Commodities volatility - Sharp moves in agricultural commodities like coffee (up 4.91%) and cocoa (up 2.08%), together with a pullback in gold futures (down 1.18%), introduce price risk for firms tied to those commodity markets and for related investor positions.
