Overview
Shares of Churchill Capital Corp XI (NASDAQ: CCXI) fell 3.5% on Thursday following news that Agility Robotics has appointed Michael Beer as its Chief Financial Officer. The hire comes as Agility prepares for a public listing through a previously announced business combination with CCXI.
Role and responsibilities
In his new position, Beer will lead Agility's finance function, with oversight of capital markets, financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury and investor relations. His most recent prior role was as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Corporate Services at Energy Vault Holdings (NYSE: NRGV).
Leadership restructuring
As part of the reshuffle, current Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer Jennifer Hunter will relinquish financial duties and focus exclusively on her role as Chief Operating Officer. In that capacity she will be responsible for scaling Agility's global operations, manufacturing footprint and supply chain network to support customer deployments.
Commercial progress
Agility Robotics, which develops humanoid robotics and Physical AI solutions, is widening its field deployments with customers that include Schaeffler, GXO and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada. The company reports an active pipeline of more than 30 enterprise customers spanning logistics, manufacturing and supply chain operations.
Transaction financing and investors
The planned business combination with Churchill Capital Corp XI is expected to deliver in excess of $620 million in gross proceeds. The transaction counts a range of strategic investors and partners, including NVIDIA, Amazon, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Schaeffler, Foxconn, Abico, DCVC and Playground Global.

Beer earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He currently sits on the boards of Cambridge Future Tech, SAIF Autonomy and Literal Labs.
