The weakest stocks on the index included Adyen NV (AS:ADYEN), which fell 3.94% or 43.00 points to close at 1,047.40. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) declined 2.85% or 42.60 points to finish at 1,451.80, and ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) lost 2.16% or 17.80 points to end at 808.00.

Decliners outnumbered advancers on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 58 to 42, with 7 stocks unchanged at the close. Shares of Magnum Ice Cream Nv (AS:MICCT) moved to an all-time high, advancing 1.71% or 0.30 to 17.68.

Volatility measures were steady: the AEX Volatility index, which reflects implied volatility in AEX options, was unchanged at 21.09.


Commodity markets were mixed at the close of European trade. Crude oil for October delivery rose 2.46% or $2.05 to settle at $85.45 a barrel. Brent oil for December delivery increased 4.84% or $4.17 to $90.29 a barrel. By contrast, the December Gold Futures contract declined 1.00% or $45.36 to trade at $4,484.54 a troy ounce.

In currency markets, EUR/USD was unchanged at 1.16, while EUR/GBP remained unchanged at 0.86. The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 99.39.


Index-level detail shown during the session recorded the AEX at 1,105.77, a decline of 6.51 points or 0.59% at close.

This session’s price action left a clear distribution between winners and losers across sectors: Technology and Industrials posted heavier losses, while select names in energy services and consumer goods recorded gains.
