Finnish stocks finished higher at the close on Monday, supported by advances in Telecoms, Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors that helped lift the headline benchmark.
At the Helsinki close, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 0.20%.
The session's top performers on the OMX Helsinki 25 included Hiab Oyj (HE:HIAB), which climbed 5.09% or 2.52 points to finish at 52.00. Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) added 3.69% or 0.33 points to end at 9.28, and Orion Oyj B (HE:ORNBV) gained 1.73% or 1.15 points to close at 67.80.
On the downside, Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) led the losers after slipping 2.41% or 1.00 points to 40.56 at the close. KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV) fell 2.10% or 1.22 points to 56.92, while Mandatum Oyj (HE:MANTA) was down 1.49% or 0.11 points to 6.93.
Market breadth on the Helsinki Stock Exchange favored falling issues, with decliners outnumbering advancers 114 to 64, and 13 stocks finishing unchanged.
Notably, shares of Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) pushed to 5-year highs, finishing up 3.69% or 0.33 at 9.28.
Commodity markets showed divergent moves: Brent oil for July delivery was up 2.26% or 2.24 to $101.37 a barrel. Elsewhere, crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.92% or 1.81 to hit $96.21 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.19% or 56.34 to trade at $4,684.56 a troy ounce.
Foreign exchange and dollar benchmarks were relatively stable. EUR/USD was unchanged 0.08% at 1.17, and EUR/GBP was unchanged 0.07% at 0.87. The US Dollar Index Futures slipped 0.15% to 98.22.
