Apple TV has entered a distribution deal with EverPass Media to make its live sports programming accessible in commercial venues such as bars, restaurants, hotels and gyms across the United States. The move places Apple’s sports offerings alongside other premium sports rights carried by EverPass and is intended to increase visibility of the streamer’s live sports content where group viewing and large screens are common.

Key Points

  • Apple TV and EverPass Media have agreed to distribute Apple’s live sports programming to U.S. commercial venues including bars, restaurants, hotels and gyms.
  • Apple’s offerings on EverPass’ "Core" package include U.S. Formula 1 coverage, Major League Soccer matches and two "Friday Night Baseball" games.
  • The deal expands EverPass’ premium sports library, which already contains UEFA Champions League, Prime Video’s Thursday Night Football, NBA and WNBA content, and other major sports rights.

Apple TV has signed a distribution arrangement with EverPass Media that will allow businesses to stream the service’s live sports content on premises including bars, restaurants, hotels and gyms, EverPass said on Thursday. The agreement makes Apple’s sports programming available to commercial venues in the United States as part of EverPass’ "Core" package, at no extra charge to new and existing customers.

Apple’s sports slate being added to EverPass’ commercial library includes the streamer’s U.S. Formula 1 coverage, Major League Soccer fixtures and two of Major League Baseball’s "Friday Night Baseball" games. EverPass framed the addition as a way to broaden and strengthen the company’s existing premium sports offerings for venues that rely on big-screen group viewing.

"From the continued growth of MLS and the enduring pull of MLB to Formula 1’s rapidly expanding global fanbase, Apple’s content strengthens and diversifies our library of premium offerings," EverPass CEO Alex Kaplan said.

The deal extends EverPass’ current portfolio of commercial sports rights. Its premium catalog already includes UEFA Champions League coverage carried through Paramount+, Prime Video’s "Thursday Night Football," and both National Basketball Association and Women’s National Basketball Association programming. EverPass partners with major sports and entertainment rightsholders to provide bars, restaurants, hotels and other businesses with commercial access to premium live sports content, citing rights such as the National Football League Sunday Ticket, the Premier League and Thursday Night Football among its offerings.

EverPass is positioning Apple TV’s sports lineup as part of a broader mix tailored for venues where group viewing can be a draw for customers. The company notes the availability of Apple’s content in its Core package in the U.S., and frames the addition as a diversification of its premium sports library alongside existing rights from other streamers and rights holders.

Sectors and market context

  • Hospitality and leisure: bars, restaurants, hotels and gyms that host live sports viewing.
  • Streaming and sports broadcasting: the expansion of Apple TV’s sports distribution into commercial venues.
  • Commercial content distribution: providers that aggregate and license live sports rights for public venues.

Risks

  • It is not guaranteed that making sports content available in public venues will translate into increased subscriptions, customer traffic or brand loyalty for Apple TV; the article describes these outcomes as potential benefits rather than certain results.
  • The commercial availability described in the article is limited to the United States under EverPass’ Core package, which constrains geographic reach and venue coverage to U.S. markets.
  • EverPass’ commercial library already includes rights from other streaming services and rightsholders, indicating an environment with multiple providers competing for venue placements and audience attention.
