Apple TV has signed a distribution arrangement with EverPass Media that will allow businesses to stream the service’s live sports content on premises including bars, restaurants, hotels and gyms, EverPass said on Thursday. The agreement makes Apple’s sports programming available to commercial venues in the United States as part of EverPass’ "Core" package, at no extra charge to new and existing customers.
Apple’s sports slate being added to EverPass’ commercial library includes the streamer’s U.S. Formula 1 coverage, Major League Soccer fixtures and two of Major League Baseball’s "Friday Night Baseball" games. EverPass framed the addition as a way to broaden and strengthen the company’s existing premium sports offerings for venues that rely on big-screen group viewing.
"From the continued growth of MLS and the enduring pull of MLB to Formula 1’s rapidly expanding global fanbase, Apple’s content strengthens and diversifies our library of premium offerings," EverPass CEO Alex Kaplan said.
The deal extends EverPass’ current portfolio of commercial sports rights. Its premium catalog already includes UEFA Champions League coverage carried through Paramount+, Prime Video’s "Thursday Night Football," and both National Basketball Association and Women’s National Basketball Association programming. EverPass partners with major sports and entertainment rightsholders to provide bars, restaurants, hotels and other businesses with commercial access to premium live sports content, citing rights such as the National Football League Sunday Ticket, the Premier League and Thursday Night Football among its offerings.
EverPass is positioning Apple TV’s sports lineup as part of a broader mix tailored for venues where group viewing can be a draw for customers. The company notes the availability of Apple’s content in its Core package in the U.S., and frames the addition as a diversification of its premium sports library alongside existing rights from other streamers and rights holders.
